With a robust history of pioneering blasting and painting technologies tailored for the anti-corrosion industries, Airblast was renowned for its high-quality abrasive sand innovative solutions.

Fortress Legacy
In the late 1970s Airblast was renamed Abrasive Blast Systems (ABS) and continued to provide innovative solutions to a wide variety of industries, including aerospace, industrial manufacturing, automotive, foundry, construction, railway, energy, and military. In 2024, ABS was acquired by Salina Vortex and re-branded to FortressBlast Systems.
Since the strategic acquisition, Fortress has continued to advance this legacy from our cutting-edge 115,000 square foot facility in Salina, Kansas. This facility boasts the latest in manufacturing technologies, including fiber laser cutting, robotic welding, and advanced paint systems, ensuring that every product we deliver meets stringent standards of quality and performance. Employing over 100 dedicated professionals, we are not only committed to industry-leading innovation but also to supporting and enriching our local community. This blend of rich history and modern expertise defines Fortress as a leader in the abrasive blast industry.
